Ganesha was named as the head of Shiva's army of ganas (hence his other popular name, Ganapati, or leader of the Ganas) and be worshiped by all before they embarked upon any enterprise. Associated with fortune and good luck, a Ganesh statue is often found at the entrance of a house. This Ganesh statue is made of resin, but due to a fine silver finish gives the appearance of silver metal. The statue measures about 8.5 inches high and is made in China.
