Elephant-headed and many-armed, Ganesha is a mystifying, even comic figure to the uninitiated. In one of the forms, Ganesha is the Destroyer of Obstacles, Nrttya Ganapati, the dancing god who is depicted as many-limbed and fearfully armed deity. In this form he is also an emanation of Avalokiteswara, the Buddhist deity. In this brass statue, the dancing Ganesha is shown holding a noose, a goad, an axe, his broken tusk, snake and sweets. The statue measures 9 inches high and 6.5 inches wide. Due to the handmade nature of the product minor scratches and defects are common and add to the artistic appeal of the statue.
